2024 Korea Missions Trip
We are excited to announce our upcoming missions trip organized by GCC Canvas to Korea on July 22 to August 2, 2024! This mission trip is a wonderful opportunity to share the love of Jesus Christ with the children and youth of S. Korea. To make this mission a reality, we need your support. Your generous contributions will help cover travel expenses, accommodations, and supplies to help our short term missionaries. Please consider donating to support our team and to do your part to help fulfill the Great Commission. Thank you for your kindness and support!
Please donate by July 22, 2024. God bless you for your generosity!
Message from Pastor Sang
Say “Hello” to the 2024 Busan Mission Team: Lois Boo, Pastor Sang Boo, Gloria Jang, Pastor Nathan Kang, Esther Kim, Jun Kim, Cindy Lee, Dylan Lee, James Lim.
Technically, we are going to the two southernmost provinces of S. Korea, Jeollanam Do and Gyeongsangnam Do. Churches from those regions have asked the IMB for partners from the United States to help run English camps, one for elementary students and one for youth and college students.
Together with a partner church from North Carolina, three churches in Korea, and the IMB, we ministered to about 70 children and youth last year. It was such a great success that the Korea team is expecting more partners on their side and well over 100 students.
Keep in mind that we are partnering with small churches that do not have the resources to reach a large number of students in their respective regions. But through our partnership, “mini is the new mega!”
Some people may wonder, Why go to S. Korea for a summer mission trip? Isn't it a heavily Christian nation? Are we going there just to have an excuse to visit the mother land?
Well, no. We're going there to work as short-term missionaries. And it's hard work—two English camps in seven days, non-stop go, go, go, plus a few days for travel, prep, etc.
We're going because the IMB has sounded the alarm. The young people of S. Korea are now designated as an unreached people group (UPGs, meaning, less than 2% Christian).
And in the southernmost provinces where we are ministering, the need is greater, still. It is not uncommon to see shrines and huge Buddha statues as you drive around.
Won't you partner with us to share the love of Jesus with the children and youth of S. Korea?
Your prayers are greatly needed and desired (for safety, unity, and spiritual fruit). And any donation you can give, large or small, will be extremely helpful.
Blessings!
