In Such a Short Time
MAIN IDEA
Paul was committed to share his faith in Jesus including his conversion and his mission. Even when faced with challenges and opposition, he is convinced what he believes in is the truth. He has compassion to share this truth, that King Agrippa II and all those in attendance to his hearing would also share the same truth of the gospel.
PAUL WAS COMMITTED (v. 22-23)
Paul is committed to share his testimony with King Agrippa II, Procurator Festus, and Berenice (Bernice) and believes the Lord has brought him to this point for this specific reason. He defends his faith in Jesus, citing Old Testament prophecies to show that Jesus' life, death, and resurrection fulfill prophecies by Moses and other prophets. He emphasizes that faith in Jesus brings salvation, urging others to believe in him as the Messiah
PAUL IS CONVINCED (v.24-27)
In the midst of Paul’s testimony about his faith in Jesus, Festus, the Roman procurator (governor), interrupts and accuses him of insanity. Paul respectfully responds, asserting the truth of his words and knowledge of the scriptures. He addresses King Agrippa directly, stating that Agrippa believes in the Old Testament prophets, and Paul's message about Jesus aligns with their teachings. He strategically poses a rhetorical question to King Agrippa.
PAUL HAD COMPASSION (v.28-29)
King Agrippa responds to Paul's message, acknowledging Paul's persuasive arguments and what he was trying to do, persuading him to believe in Christ as the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies. Paul expresses his wish that not only Agrippa but everyone present would become followers of Jesus, except for his chains, indicating his compassionate desire for their spiritual freedom.
